KORWA
Korba is a primitive tribe of Jharkhand. It is believed that Korwa came from Madhya Pradesh in Jharkhand, extremely poor and backward castes. It is said that this is a small branch of the Munda which grew in the west towards Madhya Pradesh. There is still a large population of Korba in Sarguja and Jashpur of Madhya Pradesh. Currently, Korba is found mainly in the hilly areas of Garhwa, Palamu and Latehar districts in Jharkhand, where they are available from forests for tuberculosis, fruit-flowers, herbs etc. Various Banopajs are available for years. Korba also meets in Gumla and Simdega districts. Sporadically, some other districts are also found. Their special concentration in Garhwa district is in Ghurki and Bhandaria and Chainpur and Mahuataand blocks. Meet Rohtas, Bhojpur, Purnia and Munger in Bihar and Mirzapur region of Uttar Pradesh. These four states of India are the residence of Korba. Some scholars have considered Korba as Dravidian race but its language is not Dravid.
